Frequently asked questions

Can I suggest a new tool or feature?

Yes, please. Feature suggestions help us prioritise what to build next. Tell us what problem you're trying to solve, not just the feature you want — sometimes there's a better solution we hadn't thought of.

I found a bug. What now?

Email us with: what you did, what you expected to happen, what actually happened, your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.), and your operating system. Screenshots help a lot.

The time in my city looks wrong.

First, check that your computer's clock and time-zone setting are correct — we use the same time-zone information your device does, so if your computer thinks you're in the wrong zone, our tools will too. If your settings are correct and our display is still wrong, please report it.

Can I use ZoneKit at work, in a presentation, or in a blog post?

Yes. Sharing links and taking screenshots is welcome. For larger republication of our content, please ask first.

Do you have an API?

Not currently. If you're looking to do time-zone calculations in code, the IANA time-zone database is publicly available and is supported natively by most modern programming languages.

Will you add a tool for X?

Maybe — let us know. We expand the toolkit based on what users actually ask for.

How is ZoneKit funded? Will it stay free?

ZoneKit is free and will stay free. It's supported by display advertising rather than subscriptions or paywalls. There's no premium tier and no plan to lock features behind a login — the tools you see are the whole product.

Do you store the cities I add or the countdowns I create?

No. Everything you set up — your world-clock cities, your format preference, your saved countdowns — is stored in your own browser, on your own device. It never reaches our servers, because we don't have anywhere to put it. Clear your browser data and ZoneKit starts fresh.

Which browsers and devices does ZoneKit support?

Any modern browser on any device — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop, tablet, or phone. The site is mobile-friendly and needs no installation. Because the tools run in your browser, there's nothing to download and no account to create.
